Pungleperrys - Coffee & Desert Bar

 

Towards the middle of the month I was out with the family visiting Sheringham, gorgeous place with lovely scenery.

After a few hours of walking about in the heat (we were lucky and it was actually beautiful weather!), we had to stop for a drink and something to eat.
We hadn’t as of yet had our ritual of ice cream at the coast, so we were craving some.
On our way back to the car, we stopped by this cute little cafe called Pungleperrys, lured in by the sweet smell of fresh gelato.

Gelato in the most basic terms is simply a smoother and creamier version of ice-cream with a far smaller fat content.

Greeted by 4 lovely ladies with beaming smiles, and a large array of home-made gelato, I was in heaven.
It had a very friendly atmosphere and was a great place to sit down for a break.

From the selection on offer, I had my eye on a double scoop (greedy I know) and went for Lemon meringue + Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

The Chocolate Fudge Brownie had bits of actual brownie inside, and was just perfection, would most definitely satisfy any chocolate cravings you are having!
I can only tell you that this is some of the finest ice-cream I have EVER tasted, the freshness of the Lemon really helped to cleanse the palette from the chocolaty goodness before.
Especially considering it was such a hot day, the gelato hit the spot (very generous portion too may I add).

The fact that this is all handmade and fresh, just makes it all the more enjoyable. Plus due to it being gelato, you don’t have to feel QUITE so guilty, as there is far less fat than you would typically find in standard ice-cream.

Once I had finished my gelato, we had a lovely chat to Carol, one of the owners, about the magazine / blog. She told us some of the history of the place and how it is family run etc.

A down to Earth lady that we could have spent a lot longer talking to, she gives off a welcoming aura to each and every customer.
We even managed to nab a couple of pictures of her and the team and then went on our way.

Overall it’s such a nice place, whether you want hot food, coffee, or their fantastic gelato, Pungleperrys is most definitely THE place to try if you are in Sheringham.

I definitely advise that you go give it a try if you are in the area.
