Hey everyone, how are we all doing? So this is my first post as a guest blogger for Million Models Magazine and I just want to say a big thank you to them for asking me to do this.
I was lucky enough to work with the guys here at Million Models Magazine on their photoshoot for the May issue and they are such a great bunch of people, really lovely and the magazine is also fabulous so I feel really privileged to be asked to write on their blog. Thanks guys!
Anyhow, today I wanted to let you all know my thoughts on a particular lip product which I think a lot of people would definitely have heard of by now and it’s the OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) Lip Tars.

The first thing I noticed with this product is that a little goes a very long way, you seriously do not need a lot at all and the so price tag of £11.50, purchased from Selfridges (also available online at Amazon), is amazing, these tars will last forever.  I put the smallest amount on the back of my hand and still didn't use all of it.  They have a great coverage and it is also buildable if you want achieve a deeper shade.
I tried the Lip Tar in the shade Harlot.  In the packaging this looks like strong red with a slight pink undertone but actually goes on the lips extremely bright with a strong orange undertone which I actually really liked.
Now I only used this tar on my lips with no exfoliating first, no lip liner, nothing as I wanted to get an accurate feel for the product.  I am definitely recommending that you use a lip liner with this product though especially if your lipstick has a tendency to bleed.  As you can see in the picture below the colour is slightly bleeding out from my top lip.  A darker shade of liner would look fab with this colour as you could slightly ombre the lip.
Use a small, flat and pointy lip brush to apply this product I find that this shape brush works best for example a MAC 316 brush (available HERE) would work perfectly.   I personally used a Crown Brush C170-4 Oval Taklon brush.  I didn't swap brushes for different sections of the lip I just stuck to this one for the entire application.

I must stress to anyone using these lip tars, be very careful,  they are so messy and just remember that these are lip stains and will most probably stain anything it touches.  It does seem to take quite a long time to “settle” into the lips but hey, most lip products in a bold colour do come off on glasses etc.
The OCC Lip Tars are a great product for all you makeup artists out there and I personally think they should be a staple in every MUAs kit.  They come in a variety of fabulous bold, bright and beautiful colours which would be perfect for many photoshoots or other jobs if you need a lip colour with longevity.
I have now had Harlot on my lips for approximately 5 hours and it has dried out enough that the colour is no longer coming off but it is still extremely bright.  I have eaten and drank since applying the product and this is the result after 5 hours of wear………………

Impressive Right?
My final thoughts…..I really like these Lip Tars, they are incredibly pigmented, the colour payoff is to die for and I most certainly will be buying many more of the colours.  There are a few I have my eye on.   They are 100% vegan & cruelty free and so should really appeal to everyone.  I really love them and I do recommend all of you trying these out even if it means you get just the one and try it out.
Let me know your thoughts by commenting down below if you have already tried the Lip Tars or if you do go and invest let me know.
If there is a particular product that you would like to read about then let me know and I will do my best to review it for you.
So that’s it for me guys be sure to check out the rest of Miliion Models blog and also pop over to my Youtube channel for more makeup reviews, tutorials etc, my channel name is just “Nikki Rowley”.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this and I shall be back soon with another post for you all.
Take Care
Nikki xxx
