Paul M

First off Paul, give our readers a brief introduction into who you are and what you do.
Recording artist whose aim is to inspire others with what I do; singer, songwriter, keyboardist, production, mixing, mastering, sound engineer, host, videographer and actor.

What first got you into the music scene?
I have loved music since I was given my first keyboard at the age of 6 by my late grandmother. I then went on to study music through school, college and university. Later building it more up since leaving university, I went onto DJ-ing, hosting karaoke and performing at events.

Did you always have a natural affinity with music making and performing in general?
During my studies I have loved everything to do with music; especially studying music history as well. Since the young age of 6 I was also able to listen to a song and reproduce it in perfect pitch.

We see that you have worked with a few TV celebrities, tell us a little more about those experiences.
I am truly grateful of their support and they all completely have mine. When I appeared on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ (Series 11 Episode 1) I was so pleased to see my friends James Locke and Daniel Osborn whom I talk to regularly and support me. It was also lovely to meet everyone else and click with Gemma Collins, whom now also supports me; for which I couldn’t be anymore grateful and honoured. I have also appeared at various charity events, had numerous radio station interviews including New York’s leading radio station BEG and a television interview with ‘The Chrissy B Show’.

Out of all the celebrities you have met, who were you a little star struck by?
Star-struck, what is that? To get somewhere and ask for support there is no time to be star struck. Everyone who has made it has worked hard and I must do the same. I would never want people to be star struck by me but to appreciate the support and inspiration that I shall give others in the future.

What is up next for Paul M?
I would love everyone’s support and aim to give so much back to others which includes charity work, appearing as a guest of many radio shows and also want to be able to visit schools to encourage everyone studying music that anything is possible; even taking part is lessons or teach a class/help in projects and would love to do a tour.

From where do you seek inspiration when song writing?
I am inspired by everyone who is there for me; I listen to others, keep everything to myself and come up with song ideas that is based around situations that everyone can relate to.

Do you have any role models and if so, who and why?
I myself would love to be the role model to everyone that studying, supporting others and hard work is the way forward. I also would like to simply pull everyone together and support one another without the need for selfishness and greed. I am also inspired by anyone else who truly writes and produces their own songs; which is sadly very hard to find today.

What is your all-time favourite song? Does it hold a special meaning for you?
My all-time favourite song has to be Phil Collins – Two Hearts. It resembles people coming together, it’s well written and is so cheerful.

Where can people go to hear more from you?

Have you family been supportive of your career?
I’d like to say that it’s my Dad and friend who lives in my home that mainly has to put up with hearing my music and I’m always asking for their opinions; even when the songs are only half done! Many thanks to them both for putting up with me and it was them who help set up and build my studio.

Do you have any announcements you would like to make to our lovely audience?
Do the right things, be there for others, work hard, study, never be afraid to ask for support and always be polite.

Your new single 'Inspirational' has just been released recently, how has it been received so far?
I am so proud that it has been the most positively received song that I have ever done and everyone says that more and more people need to hear it to send out the positive message that it portrays; that if you put your mind to it you can make a change, have powerful positive repercussions of the things that you could do and pick yourself up. It has now eve got official ratings on iTunes and here are also what people have said:

“A fantastic song by an amazing singer/songwriter. His music really reflects what a lovely and genuine person he is!” Sarah-Louise Hibbs

“This song is just what the title says…inspirational! Beautiful words and sensational voice from the awesome talent that is Paul M! I love it…you’re going to love it too!!!” Susan Heywood.
