Not To Do List - More Than Pennies

Posted By: Pennie's - Based on true story - Sunday, April 26, 2015
"All we need is somebody to lean on." - Major Lazer feat. DJ Snake and Mo.

Gosh, I have been such a terrible blogger! For real, I have a very good reason...
There has been so much going on in my life and my latest project is to start a new portal for equestrian blogs.
So that has took some time besides my studies.
Anyway, now I'm updating this blog so no worries!

I haven't been able to visit in any 2nd hand store for some time...
Summer is coming and that means that it's time to refresh my wardrobe! It's an amazing excuse to buy new stuff! But now I'm introducing to you a not to do list when you are either buying or selling in 2nd hand store.
These are things that you NEVER do and you will dodge these as much as possible!
Here are the top 5 things that will kill your enthusiasm very quickly... Have to say that now I'm talking about those 2nd hand stores that people can sell their own stuff, without any proper inspection (common here in Finland).

#1 UNDERWEAR; every now and then you find in 2nd hand store some old underwear for sale.
For f*ck sake - why?? Panties, bras, maybe some socks... Who would like to use anyone's old panties? Underwear are private and self-hygienic. Unless you get your kicks out of them. So, please! Don't bring any underwear to 2nd hand store - toss them away!

#2 T-SHIRTS AND BLOUSES WITH STAINS; and not just any stains - those that are in your armpits! If I found some nice white T-shirt and it seems to be perfect, I will always check armpits. Mostly I found disgusting yellow sweat stains. And that shirt is ruined.

#3 COSMETICS; so what to do when you have an almost empty shower gel, perfume or body spray bottle? Yes - normal people would get rid of them, but some will put them on sale. It's absolutely gross! And it doesn't end there, it includes also make up; lipsticks, mascaras... Way to go!

#4 BROKEN THINGS; this means everything. Don't sell anything that is even a bit broken!
There is three modes of selling broken things.
One; seller knows that product is broken and she/he sells it anyway with good price, because she/he thinks that buyer doesn't notice.
Two; seller knows that product is broken and she/he sells it anyway with low price by idea that "it will still do".
Three; seller doesn't truly know that product is broken. Then buyer has to make decision. I really don't want to buy Converse sneakers  for 40 euros if there's no soles anymore...

#5 OVERCHARGE; bad product with high price. You know what I'm talking about. Basic T-shirts, unfit shoes and fake brand purses - great prices! If you really have good brand products for sale in 2nd hand store, you can put a little extra on the price but in any other situation, it's just greedy!

Those are my thoughts for now. If you like, you can follow me on Instagram @pennieplaysson!

Adaptalux - Adaptable Mini Studio Lighting System

Posted By: Unknown - Tuesday, April 14, 2015
Adaptalux is a mini studio lighting system for macro photographers and videographers.
It seems to be a pretty awesome system that is scalable and very effective.

If macro photography or videography is your thing, then you will be at least a little interested by the prospect of the Adaptalux system.
They have launched on Kickstarter and are looking to solve the issues that come with trying to light macro scenes.

It is a fairly small device that houses five ports with five LED lighting arms that can have different colour outputs and intensities. They are adjustable and flexible meaning that no matter the situation or object you should be able to nail that lighting.
You can mount it off-camera for more control or for a more portable system you can mount directly to the camera itself.

There are various accessories available such as light backdrops, color filters, diffusers and even a light stage. They look well made and you can tell a lot of effort has been put into the system.

The prices start at £100 and range up to £500, depending on the amount of accessories etc you would like to purchase.

Check out the video below to learn more about the device and accessories.

Go check out the Kickstarter and back it if you like the concept: CLICK HERE

Be sure to give them a cheeky follow on Twitter too: @Adaptalux

We will be getting our hands on a review unit in the near future and will bring you our thoughts on it, so keep your eyes peeled!

iSensor HD - Wifi Home Security System

Posted By: Unknown - Friday, April 10, 2015
Touting the iSensor HD as 'The Most Trusted Home Security Camera!', Amaryllo has a lot of faith in it's product.
Does it live up to the claim?

Hardware

The iSensor HD is quite a small unit, measuring only 5 x 2 inches, so it does not take up a large amount of space.
It houses a 1MP lens which records at 1280 x 720 at 30fps, although you can choose to lower the resolution if you so wish. Interestingly enough it doesn't use a fish eye lens approach that others use, so the view you DO get is typically clearer and more true to life.

You also have an intruder warning light and beeper, which you can set to go off as an alarm system when it detects movement. The light is very bright and the beeper fairly loud too, would certainly make you think twice before proceeding.

It is made from lightweight plastic and has a white external surface with the camera lens at the top and a security light at the bottom.

It rotates from about a third of the way up, giving you the 180 degrees of viewing it is capable of.The unit is very light and feels a bit...cheap in all honesty. Although with it being mounted somewhere hopefully out of reach I don't see it posing a problem, it is not an action camera after all.

The iSensor HD is also a very low power-consuming camera, powered by a standard 5 volt and 1 amp supply. It is powered via a standard USB cable, which means you can plug it in using the extension cable, straight into a laptop or even into a USB plug, very handy.

Software

This makes sure that your webcam is as secure as it could possibly be, using the 256-bit encryption it offers.
It has very minimal lag and gives you a real-time view of the surroundings.
While the quality of the image isn't exactly what I would call 'HD' it is pretty decent and certainly has enough detail to get facial features etc

This is very handy so you can view your videos from anywhere in the world, all for free.
Amaryllo have used Skype as the main stay of the iSensor HD encryption and streaming software.
The setup was very easy, using a QR code for simple installation meant we were set up within 5 minutes of having it out of the box.

You can download the iSensor HD app which allows you to view your camera when out and about, keeping an eye on your treasures. This is for both iOS and Android devices as well as any platform that Skype is available on.

The app allows you to use your finger to rotate the camera left and right to get a 180 degree view of the room or property it is viewing.
It also has a multitude of features that you can edit, completely customizing your setup to your needs.

The camera has a built-in microphone for use with your motion and audio sensing capability of the apps.
So if you have it set to 'Events' it will make note of whenever it hears or sees something out of the ordinary and can notify you with a screenshot via Skype OR text.
There is also a built-in privacy mode that you can enable from the app which shuts off the motion and audio detection if you so wish.

The iSensor HD can be set to record videos CONSTANTLY or only on 'Events' and then upload them to Google Drive for review. You get 15GB of free Google Drive storage as well as a built-in embedded 4GB microSD.

Conclusion

So is this THE best overall security camera ever? Probably not.
However it is a VERY good low cost and effective IP camera which you can use to protect your property or valuables.

The ability to pan 180 degrees, have an intruder be detected, be alerted via Skype or Text and also have the high intensity light and beeper to ward them off, means that for such a small package it packs a punch.

If you are looking for a sleek, stylish and effective camera you can view over WiFi packed with advanced features, then this is the camera for you.

Follow me around Graz - Celin May

Posted By: CelinMay - Sunday, April 05, 2015
Reading the title of this article might be confusing somehow. I guess most readers are like "What or who is Graz?"

Well, Graz is a little city in Austria. And Austria is a small country in Europe right next to Germany. So yeah, why is this important now?
Because I want to show you a video my sister and I did on the weekend with the title "Follow me around Graz". I'm from Austria and I must admit I think it's a really beautiful country.

There is so much nature here, forests, mountains, etc. Sadly, not many people know about Austria and it's beautiful sides. Most people only know Mozart and Vienna and, since shortly, Conchita Wurst.

But Austria has some other amazing places next to Vienna too. I'd say just watch our video and you'll see. Hope you enjoy!
