Collection - Work The Colour - Eyeshadow Pencils

Posted By: Unknown - Monday, September 22, 2014
Hey guys me again, I hope you are all doing great?  I’ve just got a quick post for all today…..

So I recently posted a review over on my blog nikkirowleymua.blogspot.com about a couple of Collection products that I recently purchased including their Lip Butters and Eyeshadow Pencil and so this review is on the eyeshadow pencil.

I bought mine in the shade Hot Chocolate because I swatched it on my hand in store and it is just a really gorgeous deep shimmery golden brown colour.

Hand swatch……

This pencil applies just like a cream and has a really nice colour pay off.  It blends out beautifully and can either be used on its own or as a base for your eye shadow.  But do work quickly when your blending this product because once it has set, it really has set, there is no budging it from that point on.  Because they dry so well they are really long wearing and don’t crease, which is incredible.

So here is a look I created using this pencil........

I applied the makeup at around 11am and it was still strong at 8pm so it does have at least 9 hours wear and I would predict more if it was needed.

You can watch me create the above look over on my youtube channel:

Final thoughts….. I really love this eyeshadow pencil, the colour, the texture, the blendability, the long lasting wear….oh I really could go on.  I think its safe to say that this will be a product that I buy again and as it held the price tag of only £2.49 its one not to miss guys, so get yourself down to any store that stock the Collection range or you can visit Amazon online.

I hope you all try this product and love it just as much as I do.  I will definitely be investing in all of the colours they have available.

That’s it for me guys, until next time.

Thanks for reading, take care.

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation - How do you Apply?

Posted By: Unknown - Sunday, September 07, 2014
Hi guys, hope you are all well!
Just Nikki back with another review for you and today I am going to be talking about the all fabulous Skin Base Foundation by Illamasqua.

Now I have heard that a lot of people really struggle with this product as they think it sits quite cakey on the skin.  I strongly disagree with this and I think as long as it is applied correctly the skin base is by far one of the best foundations out there.

I mentioned above about applying it correctly and by this I mean using a buffing brush (I recommend the Buffing Brush by Real Techniques) to really work the product into the skin.

You get a medium coverage with this foundation however it is buildable so if you are after a really full coverage then you can apply more than one layer onto the skin.  But remember to really work this in so that it blends evenly.

Skin base is the foundation that I have in my makeup artist kit as it perfect for photographic work because it doesn’t have any SPF which means you won’t get any flash back in the photos.  If you are wanting to wear this as your everyday foundation then I would suggest first applying a moisturiser or primer with SPF in for that added protection from UV rays.

Skin base Foundation does have a price tag of £32, however it comes in a choice of 26 shades including a white which is one of the reasons why I think it is a favourite amongst makeup artists.  You can easily find the right shade for you and also the white is fantastic for mixing to achieve the correct shade every day.

Final thoughts……….Love Love Love!

I am a huge fan of Illamasqua products anyway but I seriously do think this foundation is just spot on, the formula is exactly right, enabling the user to use to their preference.  Seriously good foundation with a great even coverage.

You can purchase Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation here: Illamasqua Skin Base and whats even better is that Illamasqua offer free delivery within the UK.
(Also available from Amazon HERE)

I also mentioned the Real Techniques Buffing Brush of which you can purchase from any large Boots or Superdrug stores or online at realtechniques.com
It comes in their Core Collection set (available from Amazon HERE) but as an alternative that you can buy as a separate, then try out their Expert face Brush which is just as good - realtechnique - expert-face-brush

So that’s it for me let me know your thoughts on this product or recommend any other products for me to try out.

You can see me using this foundation in a couple of my videos on youtube so be sure to check those out here: Nikki Rowley

Thanks for reading take care.
